Rhythm for Living Coaching Circles bring people together to engage in a new way of understanding yourselves - through the lens of human nature. We went through a phase of 'studying' people and drawing conclusions about them. It resulted in a litany of characteristics of the ideal specimen. Anything 'too different' from that was labeled 'disordered' or 'disease'.
Despite decades of diverse research across fields that provide a much broader and accurate understanding of humans, systems were designed to operate around the ideals, ideologies, of those early analyses. I've done the work of leading change in systems; it is difficult. Possible, but difficult.
There's no reason you have to wait for the systems to catch up with the information that, quite frankly, it's against their profits for you to understand. SO, I'm bringing it to you so you can get in the drivers seat of your decisions regardless what shoulds are blobbed on you.
Quarter 1: Innate Adaptive Intelligence
I've coined our innate superpower to get you through everything it can as adaptive intelligence. It is within us, advancing to higher levels of detection and response as we grow. Get to know it so you can start fighting it and making yourself unwell.
Quarter 2: Your Timeline of Adaptations and why they matter
From the time you were a single cell, the organism of you has been detecting and responding to the habitat, adapting so as to be sufficiently stimulated but not overly stimulated. Either end will warrant an adaptation. The prevailing perspective is to label it all as 'trauma' and eliminate the lived experiences that 'caused' it. Noble effort and great to do where we can. However, we have mechanisms to restore after the initial adaptations. We are adaptable, by nature, out of your awareness and all of the training on how to be adaptable (i.e., do what someone else wants you to do) typically works against it. Take the reins and find your rhythmic flow through adaptations.
Quarter 3: Adult Development
Current approaches to life coaching and leadership coaching focus on learning competencies, layering on more. A false approach based on false ideologies of 'getting you' to be the ideal. One challenge is that defining this ideal was based on studying people of the past.
Have you noticed, things are really different than the past?! There's a process for ongoing adult development that improves wellness, expanding cognitive abilities (rather than trying to stay static and decline), and builds confidence to navigate uncertainties and challenges, and build more robust decision-making. Across aspects of life. Stop fragmenting and be your best self in living and leading. The approach we'll use incorporates the wisdom of Carl Jung, Gabor Mate, Richard Schwartz, and Stephen Porges to name a few. Titles intentionally omitted because they exemplify the nature of being human first, then a doctor/expert. It put into a process that you can slide into - the contribution of my decades of expertise.
Quarter 4: Learning to Listen, Listening to Learn
Develop your capacity to listen to the sensorial, interoceptive, affective, cognitive, and energetic information within you. Why? This is your internal guidance system trying to get your attention. Once you are listening, you can decipher if a thought, like meaning-making, is the prompt for your increased rate rather than the words you heard from your partner. The resolution is different.
Once you better understand you, you are in the driver's seat of decisions. Engaging with experts abound, putting into the context of you and your rhythm for living.
