Chronic Conditions

This is not how it’s supposed to be.

Tuning out the pain works some days.

Others, it is relentless, overwhelming. It can hurt to blink. Exhausting. Like having the gas pedal and the brake floored at the same time. You’re too tired to blink...just leave them closed.

Thank goodness there’s work, the kids, the dog... They give a reason to get out of bed. And avoid the guilt if you stayed in bed all day.

No one gets it.

You try to explain it.  Blank looks.  Friends come around less, family has less attention. Still you persist, trying one thing after another.  ‘Coping’ and ‘managing’ are a joke.  Irritability is the only constant companion.  Is relief too much to ask?!

You are not too much.

The other side of the coin.

The eye rolls. The experts say there’s nothing wrong; it’s in your head.

Those that hear you and put it back on you – you’re not doing something right.

Your pain is real. Because their lens cannot see it does not make it imaginary. They are simply blind to it.

Relief is exactly what you deserve.

Your nervous system can feel under constant threat.  Not only to the original source (known or unknown), but also to the criticism and doubt from family, friends, and medical professionals that becomes internalized.

Present symptoms are an artifact of life lived, not a life sentence.

Gentle, compassionate support is game-changing.

I understand how trapped and stuck it can feel in this relentless loop.  How your own thoughts and emotions can contribute to feeling stuck.

You’ve listened to so much advice and been doubted so frequently that you’ve lost connection with yourself. Let's reconnect it. Your internal knowing is part of the path forward.

Open new pathways for restoration.

Let me share with you a bodymind perspective that gets to the roots of your capacity to heal.

Expansion in your thinking and understanding is essential to open new pathways of resolution.

I’ll hold hope when it’s hard for you.
